HISTORY

FOUR GENERATIONS OF WINEMAKERS

Jean Burgaud

1873-1949

Jean arrived in Lantignié in 1905. He cultivated 4 and a half hectares of vines on a sharecropping basis. The farm also included meadows for cows and horses. During the First World War, his wife managed the farm until her return in 1918.

Benoit Burgaud

1919-1974

Benoit took over the family farm on his return from the Second World War, in 1943. Still a tenant farm, the estate expanded in 1962. It now includes 6 hectares of vines. Meadows for animal husbandry are still important. In 1974, on his death, his wife Marthe took over the running of the business.

Daniel Burgaud

1947-2024

Daniel took over the family farm as a family helper after his father's death. He then set up in his own name in 1986. He ran the vineyards until his retirement in 2012. He brought his knowledge and help to his son Alexandre, who took over the running of the estate in 2013.

Alexandre Burgaud

1990

Alexandre took over the estate's vineyards in 2013. Following a BTS in viticulture-oenology and a few years working for other estates, he settled on the family land, then gradually expanded the estate.

Proud to work on the land of our ancestors, our aim is to modernize farming techniques and make good products!

GENERATION AFTER GENERATION

SINCE 1900, THE BURGAUD FAMILY HAS BEEN CULTIVATING VINES AND PRODUCING TOP-QUALITY WINES

Alexandre Burgaud represents the fourth generation of winegrowers. He perpetuates the family's know-how, while adding his own "touch" through winemaking close to the terroirs.
